A 1938 Soviet propaganda poster depicting the members of the North Pole research expedition waving at the icebreakers Taimyr and Murman. Inscription in Russian in the lower left: Papanintsy, meaning the members of Ivan Papanin's team. Published in Azerbaijan. Technical inscriptions in Azerbaijani on the bottom. Ivan Papanin, from 1894 to 1986, was a Soviet polar explorer and scientist. Pre-War Soviet Historical Collectables, Wall Prints.
