Beautiful Dick Wray oil canvas. 28 x 24 inches. Provenance: private owner.
Biography: 1933 - 2011. Dick Wray was born in Houston, Texas in 1933. He attended the University of Houston School of Architecture from 1955-1958, and studied in Kunstakademie, Dusseldorf, Germany in 1958. He received a National Endowment for the Arts artist's grant in 1978. He lives and works in Houston.Exhibition venues include the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston; the Witte Museum and San Antonio Art Institute, San Antonio; Dallas Museum of Art and the Kimball Museum, Fort Worth. He has also exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Boulder Center for the Visual Arts, Boulder, Colorado and the University of Chicago.His work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; Museum of Fine Arts and Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth; Witte Museum; and San Antonio Art Museum.
