Pedro Friedeberg is well-known for his decorative chairs, tables and objects featuring carved hands, feet and other anthropomorphic motifs. Hand-painted and often with applied gold leaf, his works exhibit quality craftsmanship and beauty. This settee was commissioned for the Princess Acapulco Hotel which opened in 1971. It is decorated with silverleaf, a material Friedeberg did not use often. Signed to underside of each example: [Pedro Friedeberg].
