Signed by Mao Zedong in the portrait margin, in ink. Exceptionally rare signed copy of the true first edition, first issue in English of the famous "Little Red Book." With the first edition statement on the back of the title page, the facsimile calligraphic leaf in Chinese by Lin Piao advising the study of Chairman Mao‘s teachings (later expunged, as Lin Piao fell out of favor), and the colophon at rear dated 1966. The present copy was passed to the consignor from his father, a Hungarian activist in the 1970s and 1980s. The consignor states: "My father got the book [from] Dr. Gyorgy Nagy he was journalist writer in Cluj Napoca Romania and work in university [at] that time. That person had politician connection in the 80‘s. A Chinese delegation was in Romania in 1966 [June] or July and the book was high delegation present."
