Condition
All unmarked silver, with two agate boxes possibly pinchbeck mounted.
The larger cowrie shell snuff box has a clear inscription on the cover for 'Geo. Brown' in script.
The three cowrie shells have natural flaws and are rather matt in appearance. The smaller cowrie shell snuff box has an internal impact crack to one end (see image), which is not visible externally. The silver mount has some waviness around the edge where it does not sit totally flush to the cover. Gilt interior. Springy cover.
All hinges appear strong and function well.
Covers on the whole fit well.
The polished hardstone boxes have natural internal flaws and have retained a good shine. The smaller agate box has a couple of chips on the edge of the cover.
