Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. An ovoid bezel formed from 94.99% silver with a hand-carved citrine intaglio set within. Framed within the beveled edge and incised atop the intaglio is a left-facing image of Jupiter (Greek Zeus) standing with a staff held in his left hand, his head peering over his raised right shoulder with right arm extended and down. Size (intaglio): 0.57" L x 0.34" W (1.4 cm x 0.9 cm); (setting): 0.66" L x 0.46" W (1.7 cm x 1.2 cm); silver quality: 94.99%; weight: 2.8 grams

Small chips to upper and lower peripheries of silver bezel, with some coarse textures along verso and chipped areas, and minor softening to some incised details. Nice patina to silver.
