Description
East Asia, China, ca. mid-20th century CE. A beautiful hand-carved chalcedony Buddha head bead with a suspension hole drilled laterally through the top, and this piece could be strung on a cord or petite bail for suspension as a pendant. The milky lilac is semi-opaque and glows when backlit. Chalcedony is a type of agate, and believed to be a healing stone, symbolic of wellbeing and tranquility - all which this Buddha represents. Size: 0.8" L x 0.6" W (2 cm x 1.5 cm)
