Description
A chef reveals his secret ingredient...Vegetaline margarine! He holds up a can of the good stuff from inside a montrously large stock pot. The brand's sweet rhyming (in French) motto, "moins chere - que le beurre" translates to "cheaper than butter". It is a charming image, perfect for a kichen, pantry, or dining area.Margarine is, surprisingly, a French invention. Created by Hippolyte Mege-Mouries in 1869, margarine was developed during the Franco-Prussian War. Napoleon III held a contest to see which countryman could develop a cheaper, more stable substitute for butter. Originally made from animal fat, margarine evolved to become even cheaper by the use of vegetable fats. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all our posters.
