Germany - Early 1900's - 5 1/2" Tall. Palmer Cox was a Canadian illustrator who developed a series of humorous verse books and comic strips about a group of mischievous but kind-hearted sprites that he called Brownies. The first publication of Brownie characters was in 1879, however, they were not fully developed into their final form until 1881. It's a pure wonder that these five fragile figures have survived in such stellar condition.
