Two American painted softwood firkins, 19th Century, comprising a green-painted example with bentwood bail handle and a yellow-painted example with wire bail handle, each staved, finger-joint banded with tack construction.
Dimensions:Height of green firkin 9 1/4in; diameter 9 3/4in ; height of yellow firkin 10in.; diameter 11in.
Provenance:From a Chester County estate.

Condition
Each with expected marks, wear, age cracking, shrinkage, and small losses. Each appear to be retaining an old Surface, with rubbing, wear and loss to Surface.
