A wonderfully well written narrative that is at once a political thriller and a day-by-day record of two journalists and their contribution to what became an historic event, namely, the downfall and resignation of a US President.

"If you are really seriously interested in knowing about Watergate, then you must read this book. Reason is, this tale is written by the people who were there, who spoke and quizzed the people who were not only knee deep involved, but actually immersed head deep in a political quicksand from which there was no escape. 'Deep' by the way will be a word you will never read in the same context again, once you have finished the book. More importantly, the authors were journalists who had the talent and skill to record for posterity the events that took place within the inner sanctum of the world's most powerful administration." [a review]

"This book has been described as one of the 'greatest detective stories ever told' and I was quite eager to find out what all the fuss was about. Of course, I knew very well the contents of this work and its ultimate conclusion. However, I also knew that this work was one of monumental importance in late 20th Century American political history, after all, in a democratic society these now apotheosized authors achieved a feat that no mortal journalist can ever dream of. Due to this grand achievement, it does feel that it is near impossible to even attempt to analyze, let alone criticize, this book. So I set myself some rules that I attempted to stick to. First of all, despite the content, is this actually an enjoyable read?..." [from a private review]
