Description

A large steeple or school house tower bell. Bronze bell measures 17" at the opening. It has eight machined rings on the body and several machined steps in the top. The bell is nicely embossed "MENEELY'S WEST TROY N.Y. 1870". Clapper is intact. Bell is mounted on a large and ornate cast iron cradle assembly with provision for base mounting on a flat surface. There is a large cast iron crank wheel with integral sheave for actuation. The cradle is embossed "MENEELY'S WEST TROY N.Y." on both sides of the cradle assembly. The bell shows old patina, while the cradle shows newer black paint over old, pitted cast iron. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Condition: (Good). Dimensions: 26 - 3/8" x 22 - 3/4" x 29 - 1/2".
