Numerous articles, including one from Mr. Lee Perkins, Surgeon in Boston, Mass regarding the free Admission of cool air in the Small-Pox. Full leather, front cover detatched, worn, but spine label present (with small area gone). Scarce. 2. The Anatomy of the Human Bones, Nerves, and Lacteal Sac and Duct. The Ninth Edition. By Alexander Monro, Senior, M.D...Edinburgh: 1776. 410 pp. Small 8 vo. Full leather,front hinge split and weak, spine label lacking. Small bookplate of William Hunt of Pittencrief inside front cover. Not illustrated. 3. A Disquisition of the Stone and Gravel; Together with Strictures of the Gout...By S. Perry, Surgeon. The Sixth Edition...London: 1779. 220 pp. Small 8 vo. Full sheep binding, with some wear, covers split but very tight. Ms Spine label present. Longitudinal spine split down the middle, but tight. Early bookplate affixed to inside back cover. Another to front cover, but mostly removed. 4. A System of Surgery: By Benjamin Bell...Illustrated with Copperplates...Volume 7. The Sixth Edition...Edinburgh...1796. 478 pp. plus 47 pp Index. Plates 88-113 at the end, as called for. 8 vo. 3/4 leather with marbled boards, worn, scuffed, and bumped. Spine label present. Page edges colored yellow. Text is mostly clean, Plates with foxing and a line of damp staining throughout. Complete. Binding is tight. 5. A Treatise on the Morbid Affections of the Knee Joint, By James Russell...Edinburgh...1802. 242 pp. 3 engraved plates at end. 8 vo. 3/4 leather with plain brown paper covers. Expected wear, binding is tight. Spine is gilt stamped with title and also "Staffordshire General Infirmary" at bottom. A nice clutch of scarce, early leather bound medical works.
