Description
SERIAL 1154. BARREL 6.5". CALIBER .38-44. Very early example in scarcer 38 caliber. Features Paine style front target sight, target rear leaf sight, nickel finish, case color hammer & trigger guard with monogram gutta percha grips. The rear strap is engraved with the Cogswell & Harrison London retailer address. The screw are fire blue rather than nickel as is the trigger. Gun has all matching numbers to include frame, barrel, cylinder as well as etched into the right grip panel. Condition. There is a minor flake on right side of frame and side plate, one on cylinder, a light drag line and a couple on barrel and one small spot on right side of frame. Straps retain almost all the nickel finish and the entire gun is at least 95%. Strong case color on hammer and traces on the guard. Grips are near mint. Action locks up like new. Bore is strong with light frosting. Wonderful condition with rare British retailer engraving. ANTIQUE
