LOT NOTES/ ARTIST BIO:
Sun Xueni 孙雪泥 (July 1889 - July 1965), also known as Hong and Jiesheng, with the word Cuizhang, the name Zhenliu, and a layman named Zhenliu, was born in Songjiang, Jiangsu (now part of Shanghai), an artist. Founded Shengsheng Fine Arts Company in 1917, edited "World Pictorial", hired Xu Zhuodai as the editorial director in the early stage, and later became the editorial director himself. In 1928, "Liangyou Pictorial" was printed with a new plate - making process, which was very exquisite and well - known. In 1928, he served as the executive director of the Chinese Painting Association. In 1931, he went to Japan for an investigation. After returning to China, he founded a picture bookstore and published children's books. At the same time, he pioneered the color offset printing process on silk fans. In order to print traditional Chinese painting round fans, he set up a round fan manufacturing factory in Songjiang. In 1945, he served as the president. Before the Anti - Japanese War, a new factory building was built on Caoxi North Road, and a semi - automatic offset printing machine was introduced. In 1948, a Harris automatic offset printing machine was introduced. In 1959, due to the relocation of municipal construction, the factory was merged into Zhonghua Printing Factory. In 1950, he attended the first National Publishing Work Conference. From 1953 to 1958, he served as the director of the editorial department of Shanghai Picture Publishing House. In 1956, he was hired as a painter when the Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy was preparing to be established. During his lifetime, he was a member of the China Artists Association, a director of the Shanghai Branch of the Artists Association, a member of the Shanghai Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Carving Research Association, a librarian of the Shanghai Museum of Culture and History, and a member of the Peasants and Workers Democratic Party. He held a solo exhibition in Shanghai Art Museum in 1962. He died in Shanghai on July 4, 1965.

Consider normal due to the ages. Frame with normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dents. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. Normal, consider ages and wear.
