Chinese Ming Dynasty Xuande Blue and White Chrysanthemum Porcelain Plate. The plate has a broad wide central interior, round mouth lip, thick and large, raised on correspondence footed ring base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of chrysanthemum flowers bloom interspersed foliage and enclosed with thrashing Lishui wavy waves. The Chrysanthemum is one flower where the color white gives it a positive meaning. White chrysanthemums represent nobility and elegance. They are also thought to attract good luck to the home and represent a life of ease. They are often used for offerings at altars. The Upper-rim bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of Xuande Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
