DESCRIPTION: "Newport, R.I. Ida Lewis Yacht Club". William A. Falkler (1926-2014, American, York, PA). Watercolor on paper. Signed and dated '83 to lower left. Matted in wood frame. Title to mat. Inscribed to back of frame "A Holiday for two great friends. Thanks for everything. Love, Katie Falkler & William A. Falkler". Falkler is a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, MD. He was a teacher and then president for many years at the York Academy of Arts in York, Pennsylvania before pursing his painting career. He has received many awards and his work can be seen in various public and private collections. MEASUREMENTS: 17" high x 23-1/4" wide; frame 1-1/2" wide. CONDITION: Minor surface wear to frame. AJ.
