Description
A fine original WWII A-2 with interesting history. All original as shown. Named to Col. George Luzerne Hart Jr.. Col. Hart was also a United States District judge for the District of Columbia, and played a role in determining the legal procedings for the Watergate case. Preliminary research shows that Hart served in the 1930's through the early part of WWII as a Field Artillery Officer, but at some point, transitioned to a leadership role with the 64th Fighter Wing. Given that much of their work focused on ground support, his experience as an artillery officer may've dictated his role during the war with the Army Air Corps. More research will need to be done. The jacket is in excellen condition, and all insignia is original. Zipper, cuffs, and waistband appear original and in fine condition. Named with service number on lining. Leather is exceptional.
