Photograph album of activities of the US 15th Infantry Regiment at Leichuang, China, in 1915. The 15th spent 26 years in China from 1912-1938, with headquarters in the American concession in Tientsin (Tianjin), tasked with protecting American interests in China during the Chinese Revolution and the ensuing warlord period that followed the end of the Manchu (Qing) dynasty, and protecting the railroad running from the port of Chinwangtao (Qinhuangdao) to Peking (Beijing). Leichuang was a stop along the railroad that became the site of the regiment's rifle range. The album contains 26 photographs of Company I's activities in Leichuang and local sightseeing, all but one with a paper label identification. Images include Chinese nationals, local staff, troop trains, rifle ranges, and the 1915 4th of July dinner table setting. One-of-a-kind album of "The Old China Hands" from the "Can Do" regiment performing their rather unique mission.
