This beige colored 1890's battenburg tape lace round linen table topper was made by hand stitching together plain cloth pre-made tapes into stylized floral and geometric patterns with threads simply twisted together like spider-like decorations formed by weaving over and under threads arranged like a spoke of a wheel.

A lot of skillful work went into the construction of this piece. The center is embellished with hand embroidery and buttonhole cutwork.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS
This Victorian battenburg linen measures 72" in diameter.

CONDTION
In excellent condition with no holes in the linen, and the lace is in tact with no seam separations, and laundered, starched and pressed. Photos show this linen as white, it is beige with off white tape lace.

Our antique textiles are collectible and are not new and not reproductions, and have lived a long and eventful life and sometimes developing flaws. We do not launder or dry clean unless stated in listing, and most times have been in storage for many decades picking up old age storage oxidation spots.
