WUNDT WILHELM: (1832-1920) German physiologist and philosopher, known today as one of the fathers of modern psychology. Wundt distinguished psychology as a science separate from philosophy and biology and was the first person ever to call himself a psychologist. A.L.S., Prof. Dr. W. Wundt, one page, 8vo, Leipzig, 29th December 1878, to an unidentified individual, in German. Wundt writes, in full, 'By request of Prof. Avenarius in Zurich I read the treatise of G. H. Schneider ''on the development of will in the animal world'' and found it appropriate for the ''Quarterly Journal of Scientific Philosophy''. Therefore the same can be printed without further consideration, and it won't be necessary to additionally send it to Zurich'.
