KENNEDY JOHN F.: (1917-1963) American President 1961-63. Assassinated. An excellent, large vintage signed and inscribed 11 x 15 photograph of Kennedy seated in a three-quarter length pose, holding some papers in his hands, being an official portrait of Kennedy taken by photographer Louis Fabian Bacharach in the Senate Office Building in Washington D.C. in January 1960. Signed by Kennedy in dark fountain pen ink to the lower photographer's mount, 'For Jimmy Van Heusen - with my warmest regards, John Kennedy'. Matted in black and cream to an overall size of 15.5 x 19.5. An impressive signed portrait with interesting association. VG Jimmy Van Heusen (1913-1990) American composer, Academy Award winner. Van Heusen's Oscar winning song High Hopes, popularised by Frank Sinatra, was used as the theme song for the 1960 presidential campaign of John F. Kennedy. Louis Fabian Bacharach (1917-2010) American portrait photographer, best known for his portrait of Senator John F. Kennedy which was later used as his official photograph after he was elected President.
