Description
Attributed to the work of Charles Looff. (1852-1918). In original paint with glass eyes, some old repairs, paint flaking and chips, displayed on a mobile wooden base. Circa 1900. Carved in the Coney Island Amusement Park Style. Total length from trunk to tail measures 54" long and stands 37 1/2" tall including wooden mobile base. Provenance: Gifted in support of museum operations to The Hyde Collection (Glens Falls, New York) from the Charles R. Wood Foundation. Mr. Wood was the founder of Storyland Amusement Park in Lake Geroge, NY.
