An eclectic found object sculpture with vintage roller skates on a pedestal by Detroit sculptor James Nani. Signed and dated 1967. A unique modern statement. Nani said, "The essence of my work lies in its visual beauty, its tactile qualities, and its ability to touch the soul. I want to liberate you from your mind and free you to a new experience." Dimensions: 12"h x 15"w. In very good vintage condition. James Nani (1926-2016) was a Detroit artist for over 50 years and is known internationally for his metal and acrylic sculptures. His work is currently on display in Paris, India, and elsewhere around the globe. Part mystic, part philosopher, and part a holistic musician, Nani was an expressive artist that has captivated audiences for generations. Nani was commissioned to create Renaissance Rebirth art in public spaces in Detroit, MI.
