Description
A romantic and serene serigraph on wood titled "Spring Showers" by Israeli artist Slava Ilyayev. Hand signed mid bottom. Original gallery tag from Park West Gallery on the verso with a 2018 date. An iconic subject depicting pairs of lovers walking down a path under vibrant autumnal colored trees. Ilyayev is often compared to Van Gogh and the Postmodern movement. The artist paints with a palate knife and the hand embellishments on this artwork give an impasto texture that is similar to his oil paintings. Displayed in an ornate yet contemporary museum quality frame. From a private collection. Dimensions: 19.75"h x 21.75"w (framed). In very good condition. Slava Ilyayev (1970- ) is known as the master of the palette knife. In 1999, Ilyayev participated in two major shows in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem where, for the first time, his artworks were on display to the public. Slava Ilyayev's works are unique in the structure of the color which is raised above the canvas. His compositions of light and shadow are affected by the transitions of the seasons of the year. His works have been shown in various group and one-man exhibitions throughout Israel, Europe, and the USA.
