[BASEBALL]. Original seat from Yankee Stadium. New York: 1923-1973. Stadium seat with Mickey Mantle’s “7” stenciled on the upper rear seat. This was sold to the public during Yankee Stadium’s renovation in the 1970s. Brass plaque on the lower rear slat reads: “YANKEE STADIUM ‘The House that Ruth Built’ -50th- Anniversary 1923-1973 Bronx, N.Y.” Bright blue paint on the wooden slats and iron legs and wooden bases. Left iron leg, wooden and iron seat, and wooden slats with right iron leg are all separated (in 3 pieces) and will require new hardware to reattach them. The usual wear, and soiling, one would expect from a stadium seat.
