late 19th century; the flared, cobalt-ground neck with raised gilt decoration of Imperial bees and an eagle within a laurel wreath, the ovoid body flanked by raised gilt battle trophies, and polychrome-painted with a continuous scene depicting Napoleon in a chariot surrounded by allegorical figures to one side and a reclining Josephine on the other, signed "F.Bellanger", the socle with cast acanthus and raised gilt decoration of Imperial bees and an "N", the square base with anthemion motifs 29 3/4 x 11 x 11 in. with no lid; there is craquelure, pitting, and gilt loss throughout the body of the vase, also with gilt loss to upper and lower sections.
