Description

Of standard configuration with a tapered round barrel with bayonet lug on top, toward muzzle. Lock marked "TOWER" at tail and engraved with large crown over "GR" in center. Standard brass Pattern 1777 furniture. Walnut stock with traces of storekeeper's stamp on right side of buttstock and crown stamp behind trigger guard. CONDITION: Barrel and lock retain a brown patina, lock shows some heavy pitting. Touch hole has been rebushed. Mechanism strong. Brass retains a pleasing mellow patina. Several patches to wood, especially around lock, sideplate, and barrel tang. Front 12" of forestock replaced. Ramrod a replacement. Barrel Length: 42" Caliber/Bore: .75 Smoothbore FFL Status: Antique Manufacturer: Tower Model: Pattern 1777 Serial Number: NSN
