late 19th / early 20th century; stamped to lock plate "I Bramah [crown] Patent"; constructed in two parts; the upper case surmounted by a broken pediment with central marquetry-inlaid shell motif, over glazed doors enclosing three shelves over eight small drawers; the slightly outset lower case with a hinged double-fronted drawer enclosing a leather-lined writing surface, drawers, and pigeonholes, over three full-width drawers; with stringing and cross-banding throughout 44 inches wide; 22 inches deep; 92 1/2 inches high
