Description
Ancient Roman Egypt Terracotta Ink Well circa 200 AD. This is an odd ancient piece. It came with the oil lamps from the last 3 lots so we presume it is Roman. We call it Ink Well but it may have been used to contain a variety of other fluids besides ink. It kind of looks like a demon head with two little horns on top of the head. There is one minor chip in the edge of the mouth but other than that it is solid. Patination is very good on this piece. Guaranteed to TL test back to the Roman Era. It measures 3 3/8" Long. It measures 3 1/8" by 2 1/2" and is 1 1/8" tall.
