Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful necklace featuring a pendant comprised of a shard of Roman glass surrounded by a modern silver alloy bezel created via a stained-glass soldering technique. The glass is a light blue-green hue that is also imbued with colorful sunflower yellow, aqua blue, spring green, and purple violet iridescence. Suspended from a modern sterling silver chain, this is a fabulous piece of wearable art.
