French Provincial Louis Philippe Carved Walnut Marble Top Commode, 19th c., the reeded edge rounded corner highly figured gray marble over a setback cavetto frieze drawer, three deep drawers, and a bottom "secret" drawer, on stepped ogee feet, H.- 38 3/4 in., W.- 49 1/2 in., D.- 22 in.
Condition
There are some thin surface scratches to the marble top. There is a shrinkage crack down the proper left side panel. Some veneer has chipped off along the top edge of the second drawer that has been filled. Some minor scratches and dings throughout. Wear is consistent with age and use. This is a handsome example.
