William Gilbert Grace (1848 - 1915) began playing professional cricket at the age of 16 and rose quickly to the status of England's best batsman, earning the title of " The Champion." Throughout his long career, he set many records, retiring at the age of 60 after 44 seasons. The small jug was commissioned by Lawleys By Post and issued in 1989 in a limited edition of 9,500 pieces.
