FRENCH PAPER DOLL BOOKS OF FAMOUS PEOPLE, LATE 1800s-1900. 12.5" x 10" "L'empereur L'imperatrice La Garde" hardbound book with 9 hand-drawn and water-colored paper doll pages featuring costumes of Napoleon, Josephine and members of the Garde Imperiale. 4 pages are uncut, the other 5 pages of Napoleon and Josephine have been cut and feature double-sided dolls with costumes and accessories. Book has 43 front and back pages; Included is Musee De L’arme gold coin with engraved Napoleon tomb; Lot also includes 6" x 9 1/4" paper dolls excerpt from "Mon Journal" with 10 uncut paper dolls costumes, chronology, and stories/descriptions from the Garde Imperials. Commentary: Both are written in French with illustrations by JOB, published by Hachette & Cie. France, circa 1900-1902 and are in very good/excellent condition. Estimate: $600/900
