Gentleman Facing Left, said to be Robert Burns (1759-1796), inscribed "Robert Burns" lower right, label verso with excerpt about Auguste Edouart (French, 1789-1861), black ink silhouette on cream paper, 9-5/8 x 5-1/2 in.; burlwood frame, 12-5/8 x 8-5/8 in.

Condition
toning, tide line to top half, including through top of head of silhouette, tear and staining near feet, paper backing trimmed; frame with glue repair to three panels of fillet, chipping and loss to gilt, some cracks to wood, slight separations at seams
