Description
Two Limoges Porcelain Figures, Women with Birds. The bisque porcelain figural groups molded as two women in historical dress, their blonde hair up, each on a textured low-mounded base, each with a swift. The first figure, with right hand aloft, the swift in her palm. The second figure, left arm bent toward breast, with swift on the back of her hand. Painted in polychrome pastel hues and with gilt embellishments. Printed green anchor marks to interior bases of each figure. Limoges, France. Circa 1890. {Approximate dimensions: 19 1/2 - 20 inches high, overall.}. Condition: Overall condition is very good. For the figure with the bird held high: loss to swift's beak; very light hairline cracks to fingers of both hands; minor losses to rose at pelvis For the figure, bird on back of hand: very minor losses to blue ribbon closing gown. Minor scratches, wear, dirt, dust.
