Description
An original ceramic tableau by Norma J. Anderson, artist in residence for the California State Council of the Arts (1976-1977). Depicted is Justin Morgan (1747-1798) and his horse Figure (1789-1821), the Bay Colt that would later sire the Morgan breed. Morgan depicted holding horse with reigns. Finely detailed elements throughout, including forest landscape. Artist initials to lower left on front side. Includes handwritten and signed certificate of authenticity and provenance from artist. Sources cited on back side "Margaret Cabell Self" and "W. Smithson Broadhead." Artist signed, dated, and numbered to back.
Dimensions: 12 X 20 X 6 in.
Condition: Good overall condition with normal storage wear. Estate fresh to the market.
