Description
1912 TITANIC 1ed Wreck and Sinking Shipwreck Illustrated Survivor Stories
Few events in the early 20th-century were as monumental to society as the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. Numerous books and stories were published following the wreck including Marshall Everetts “Wreck and Sinking of the Titanic” who called the incident the oceans greatest disaster. Everett describes the events leading the wreck as well as noting the escapes of many survivors. Interestingly, in addition to anecdotes from the wreck, Everett writes on the history of icebergs, developments in sailing technology, modern shipbuilding, and other dangerous encounters found at sea.
This salesmans copy was published the same year as the first; however, this copy contains only a few dozen pages and a handful of the original, full-page engravings.
