Description
SST. C. 1900. At the turn of the 20th century, Standard Advertising Co. of Coshocton, OH. made a series of these single sided tin signs that appeared to be lithographed on the back of a serving tray, and added a metal easel for better display. The signs were made for the Cigar Company, H.M. & CO., (Hirschhorn, Mack & Co.) advertising several of their brands. One of the more popular brands, Henry George Cigars, highlights a profile of George himself, and was the only graphic used in advertising. CONDITION: This is a rare and desirable tin sign in very good condition. Showing some light foxing and a light fade to the main field, with some pitting to the outside edges. However, this sign displays better than its 7.8 condition rating and would be a great addition to any advertising collection. Condition: (7.8). Dimensions: 13 - 1/2" Dia.
