The solid wood cabinet is nicely constructed and features a marquetry diamond front as well as a contemporary plaque explaining the virtues of this unique looking automaton. The mechanism is almost entirely original, with the main worm drive shaft and corresponding barrel gear being modern. CONDITION: There are some unconnected wires and micro switches inside, indicating that there was an unrealized intention to circumvent the hand-cranked cylinder on the rear of the cabinet. The hand crank is missing. A rare find with five monkeys and the original drum. Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: 14"L x 27"W x 24"T.
