Appears unsigned; titled and dated on a gallery label affixed to the frame's backboard

Provenance: The Artist's Estate
Evelyn Payne Hatcher, daughter of the artist
DeRu's Fine Art, Laguna Beach, CA, purchased from the above circa 1980
Estate of DeWitt C. McCall III, Bellflower, CA, owner of DeRu's Fine Art
Other Notes: This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity secured behind the frame's Plexiglas backing. Signed in ink by Evelyn Payne Hatcher, the daughter of Edgar Payne, and Dewitt C. McCall, the official representative of Payne's estate, it states that the work is an authentic drawing by the artist and was once part of his estate. The lot is also sold with an information sheet prepared by an anonymous source, previously attached to the frame's wire, which states that the photograph on the verso of this drawing was taken by the artist himself. This same sheet provided the provenance as outlined in our cataloguing.
