Description
This is a vintage Steuben art glass sculpture titled "Enigma" designed by artist Donald Pollard (American, 1924-1994). Donald Pence Pollard was born in Bronxville, New York, on September 3, 1924. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and worked in the trainee program at the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art. Also, for a while, he worked in architectural theatre design. Pollard joined Steuben in 1950.
This sculpture is accompanied by its original Steuben fitted case. Also included are an aftermarket wooden fitted lit base. Signed for "Steuben" on the underside of the sculpture.
The glass is 11 3/8 x 6 1/4 x 2 1/2". The box is 15 5/8 x 10 3/8 x 5"

Condition
There is a tiny flea bite flake to the underside edge rim of the sculpture. Virtually unnoticeable with the naked eye. The electrical component in the base functions normally.
