Description
The Old Church was built from the 13th century onwards, making it the oldest building in Amsterdam. As an icon of the Great Iconoclasm that swept through it on 23 August 1566, it occupies a unique place in the Dutch and European heritage landscape. Rembrandt was a frequent visitor to the Oude Kerk and his children were all christened here. It is the only building in Amsterdam that remains in its original state since Rembrandt walked its halls. Excellent contrast and tonality. Unknown photographer. 8.5 x 10.5 in. 21.59 x 26.67 cm.
