Description
Rockwell, Norman (American, 1894-1978), Lincoln for the Defense, undated , color lithograph on Arches wove paper, signed and numbered 62/200 in pencil to bottom margin, publisher's blindstamp to lower corners, image 22 x 7.75 inches, full sheet 25.5 x 19.5 inches, matted and framed 37 x 23 inches. One of Rockwell's most images, showing a pre-presidential Lincoln defending his clue, Duff Armstrong, during what would later be known as The Almanac Trial. The original image was for the February 10th, 1962 issue of the Saturday Evening Post. A powerful print connecting two major American figures.
Condition
