Vintage Handmade Crochet Scalloped Bedspread - Heavy Throw With Popcorn Stitch
This absolutely gorgeous heirloom quality 1940's geometric bedspread is made from 100% cotton crochet thread. The spread has slightly rounded corners at foot and at top of spread.
Medallion measures approx., 5" x 6" and spread measures 94" in length by 83" in width with an additional 5" of fringe on three sides.
Full to Queen size.
This would look lovely on your bed, or could simply be casually placed on a chaise lounge or couch.
This spread is made of a heavy cotton and has a simple understated unique elegance. It is not only lovely, but usable and quite practical. This bedspread is well preserved and has been stored away unused for decades. One of a kind, unusual pattern.
Standard double bed is 54" wide x 78" long. Queen bed is 60" wide x 80" long. King bed is 78" wide x 82" long.
Weighs 6 pounds and 5 ounces.
CONDITION
This hand crochet bedspread is expertly made and in excellent condition, and free of stains, repairs, no broken brides, and no damage. Fringes are a little tangled from laundering. Non smoking home, with no odors. Classic in its style, Heirloom quality. I have laundered this spread.
The fibers are sturdy and will give many decades of enjoyment and will be passed on to the next generation. For sure to become a treasured family heirloom! I just can not even begin to think how many months went into the making of this spread, it is amazingly lovely.
