Description
7 1/2" x 3 1/2". Bottle shaped in ruby lustre glaze. Marked on bottom with an impressed tulip, having been repaired. The impressed 'tulip' mark dates it to 1882-88, when De Morgan shared premises at Merton Abbey with William Morris during an important period of Arts and Crafts. Has note inside dated 1961: "This it is a piece of William De Morgan pottery made at Merton Abbey during his Merton Abbey Period. " this vase is rare and and it is from an important period.
