Description
An American Aesthetic Movement marquetry decorated desk circa 1880 attributed to Herter Brothers (1864-1906), the foliate inlaid superstructure above the double doors opening to the fitted interior, resting on the fall front, when opened it opens the two top doors, each revealing the fitted interior, with concave double doors, and rising on a molded base, overall 71"h x 41"w x 23"d NOTE: Marquetry is nearly identical to the marquetry found on the bedroom suite commissioned for the Darius Ogden Mills Residence, "Happy House," Millbrae, California sold at Bonhams Modern Decorative Art and Design, New York, 10 June 2022, LOT 28
