Description
Ca. mid 18th to early 19thC. Very good with no breaks or repairs. According to the Nooter estate papers, this four piece set was identified as bread markers, however, we found similar items identified as tantric crown embellishments. Specifically, these represent four of the five Dhyani Buddhas associated with tantric systems. If these are bread markers, they are the most detailed and well painted bread markers ever. Each piece is mounted on beveled black stone, and including the stone, measures approx. 8" tall. Each panel measures approx. 6" x 5 1/4", not counting the bottom pole. Purchased 1994 Peaceful Wind, Santa Fe 1994.
