Latin America, South America, Andes, Peru or Bolivia, Spanish Colonial Period, ca. 19th to 20th century CE. A fine brass tupu pin in the shape of a feather with an elaborate head featuring the image of an Andean lord, a peacock, and the sun and moon. Four dangling ornaments hand below, displaying a diverse array of forms such as a flower, a spoon a musical mermaid, and a fish. Size: 7.6" L x 5.6" W (19.3 cm x 14.2 cm)
Provenance: ex-private Bishop Family Trust collection, the Trust of the late Bill Bishop, a noted antiquarian with shops in Scottsdale, Arizona and Allenspark, Colorado, USA, acquired before 2010
