ENGLISH AND OTHER STERLING, AND POSSIBLY OTHER SILVER, TEA CADDY SPOONS, LOT OF TEN, marked English sterling spoons comprising one with shaped bowl by John Bettridge of Birmingham having 1819 date mark, one with engraved decoration by Taylor & Perry of Birmingham having 1834 date mark, one with a hollow handle featuring "IT" mark for a Birmingham maker, possibly Joseph Taylor, and a 1827 date mark, one with a squared bowl by George Unite of Birmingham with 1836 date mark, a shell-bowl example by Martin, Hall & Co. of Sheffield with 1874 date mark, a shell-bowl example by Atkin Brothers of Sheffield with 1897 date mark, a short-handled example by Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd. of Sheffield with 1922 date mark, and a shell-bowl example made or retailed by CME Jewellery Ltd. of Birmingham, also including a possibly English spoon without marks having shell bowl and feather-edged handle, and a sterling spoon with an acorn figural bowl. All except one with sterling fineness marks, English examples with maker's marks and three to four hallmarks including a lion passant/fineness mark, a city mark, a date mark, and/or a duty mark. Total weight including hollow-handled spoon and unmarked spoon: 4.195 ozt. Together with an unmarked acorn-form spoon having engraved decoration. 11 pieces total. 19th and 20th century. 2 1/4" to 4" LOA.

Condition

Most in good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, one or a few dents, slight bending, and/or worn spots to decoration; Taylor & Perry, Martin, Hall & Co., and possibly the unmarked example having repairs to handles; unmarked acorn spoon appears to be lacking a handle.
